Looking forward to Denver
Wednesday 11/13/2013
Good morning Relatives,
I hope this finds you well. I wanted to let you know that I am looking forward to our gathering in Denver. While this is only our second gathering, I feel like so much has been done and momentum is growing. Thank you for your engagement and leadership throughout this process.
I wanted to let you know that the word is leaking out that a group of Native organization are exploring and developing innovative community wealth building strategies through employee-owned enterprise development. That group is you! You are forging a new path for others to see and to learn from. Like so many before us, forging new ground and strengthening self-determination remains our responsibility. Thank you for taking on the charge.
The Democracy Collaborative has been working hard to ensure a great experience. We will continue to work from a model of learning and action. This is your time to continue to learn, ask questions, and apply to your own situations. At the end of this journey, we WILL have several new employee-owned enterprises in place in your communities. That is the commitment we made together, and together we will achieve success!
We will have a few new faces join us in Denver, and we welcome them with open arms. See you all tonight! Safe travels.
Happy Hump Day,
Justin Kii Huenemann, Program Officer, Northwest Area Foundation
